Mercury farthest from setting sun all week (Jan 10-18, 2015)

Mercury farthest from setting sun on Jan 14, 2015.

from EarthSky.org:
"Tonight – or any night this week – look for Mercury, our solar system’s innermost planet. As dusk gives way to darkness on these mid-January 2015 evenings, the dazzling planet Venus can help guide you. Mercury reaches its greatest eastern elongation (greatest distance from the sun on the sky’s dome) on January 14. With Mercury near Venus – the sky’s third-brightest object after the sun and moon – Mercury is unusually easy to find after sunset now.

First and foremost, find an unobstructed horizon in the direction of sunset. Around 45 minutes after sundown, or possibly earlier, look for the brilliant Venus to pop out near the sunset point on the horizon. Mercury will appear near Venus about 15 to 25 minutes after that, or about 60 to 75 minutes after sunset. Don’t delay, though, because Mercury and Venus set about 90 minutes after the sun at mid-northern latitudes...."

Outage information

 -------------------
As of 9 a.m., Sunday Jan. 18
Damaging winds have created outages across our service area, with Kitsap County being the hardest hit. Although winds are forecasted to subside this morning, strong gusts and continued winds may cause additional outages and make it unsafe for crews to work.
As of 8:30 a.m., there were approximately 234 outages impacting around 29,000 customers. We have restored power to more than 62,000 customers.
We recognize the inconvenience these outages are for our customers, especially on Championship Sunday. Crews will be assessing damage and restoring customers as quickly as we can. If you’re currently without power, we recommend making alternate plans for watching the Championship game today.
A reminder for everyone: Never touch downed power lines. Always assume they’re energized. If you see a downed power line, stay away and report it by calling PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 9-1-1. Find more information or report your outage at pse.com/outagemap or download the myPSE mobile outage app.
